Our Story
The Shed Shop at the Timber Yard is a tiny emporium of carefully made, handcrafted soy wax candles, soy wax melts, greetings cards and gifts. All made by Artisans who are passionate about their craft. We also sell Ready To Burn hardwood logs and kindling.
The shop opened to customers in 2023 at the timber yard near Easingwold. We now also attend local fairs and markets. The shop is open on a weekend when we are not attending markets and fairs or by appointment.
Our Ingredients
We use only the finest ingredients in our candles and melts, responsibly sourced, natural soy wax, essential oils and cotton wicks. Our commitment to quality means you can feel good about burning our candles in your home as there are no fossil based ingredients, ensuring a clean burn, no soot and as it is vegetable based it is less likely to trigger allergies. This high-grade soy wax is non GMO, it produces a beautiful, creamy candle that holds fragrances well and has a fantastic scent throw.
Our Process
Our candles are hand-poured in small batches to ensure the highest quality. We seldom dye our products but when we do we use natural mica powder. Other visual enhancements include biodegradable glitter, dried flowers, dried herbs and sea shells, mainly collected by ourselves. Our candle jars and containers are made from recycled glass where possible. We are artisans in a cottage industry and pay attention to every detail, from choosing the perfect scent, vessel, embellishment, to carefully packaging each candle or melt for shipping.
Our Fragrances
Our soy wax candles are available in a variety of fragrances which vary according to the season. Spring & summer fragrances tend to be fruity, relaxing and fresh. Autumn & winter fragrances warming, vital and cosy. The range of soy wax melts mirror the candle fragrances enabling you to fill your home with the most beautiful aromas from top to bottom.

Our Values
We try hard to prioritise an ethos of recycle, re-use, re-purpose, re-generate. We use recycled glass jars and source our containers carefully and responsibly from various sources. You too can be part of this process. When you have enjoyed and used up your candle we suggest you clean it and then either recycle the glass or return it to us to get a discount off your next purchase. We will then re-use that vessel and refill it with another beautifully fragranced soy wax candle.
